As of 2023, there are 33 women and 170 children reported to be in Israeli prisons. Additionally, at the end of September 2023, the Israel Prison Service was holding 146 Palestinian minors for what it defined as “security” grounds and another 34 Palestinian minors for being in Israel illegally. These figures highlight the ongoing complexity and sensitivity of the situation regarding Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody.
